RAF is an app that helps northeastern Montreal residents keep abreast of events and services. By selecting their interests in the app, users get up-to-date information on events in their area, add them to the “favorite” and share them with friends and families on social networks and messengers.

Challenges
It was necessary to quickly familiarize with the project, assess the scale of the planned work and then complete all tasks in a short time, meeting a deadline of 150 hours. The New Line Technologies team was working on improvements and new functionality. The product was already in production.
The difficulty was that the application supports 4 languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic, which spells from right to left, and it was important to ensure that the interface is displayed correctly.
The main tasks of the customer are:
- implementing a new application design
- adding new functions
- bug fixing
Solutions
New Line Technologies worked on a project that was already in active usage.
Based on user’s feedback, the team sorted out the existing application bugs:
- added a new page with categories
- implemented app design
- fixed bugs of finding clients in administrator profile
- corrected translation errors
- extended existing functionality
- added conversion tracking for Facebook and Google Ads
- developed new type of events and services
- ability to add events to “favorites” and receive notifications about them
- there were separate notification settings for each category (the configuration tree, nine settings to choose from) in the old version, the NLT team redeveloped this functionality and simplified it to three settings
- added “Share Event” feature for different social networks
Results
The RAF application allows users to learn all about the activities and services offered by various public organizations, associations and institutions in the north-east of Montreal. The app takes into account the geographical location, interests and needs of users. It’s a good assistant if you need to find a place to hang out with your family or avoid missing your favorite annual event.
The New Line Technologies team fulfilled the tasks in full in the stated 150 working hours.
