This solution became an important step in developing the financial ecosystem of East Africa, where MPesa mobile payments are the primary means of digital transactions.

About Project

ZamuPay was integrated with the Kuvacash platform as a mobile payment solution. Thanks to this, users in Kenya gained the ability to withdraw funds from their accounts in the internal USDk currency directly to MPesa mobile wallets through the ZamuPay service.

Challenges

• Ensure reliable and secure integration with the MPesa ecosystem through the ZamuPay provider, taking into account the specifics of the Kenyan mobile payments market.
  
• Implement a flexible commission system that works based on threshold ranges for different withdrawal amounts. This required creating complex calculation logic and integrating it into all system components.
  
• Multi-platform implementation – the need for simultaneous development of functionality for: Backend system, iOS and Android mobile applications, and administrative panel.
  
• Ensure high security standards for financial operations and compliance with Kenyan regulatory requirements for mobile payments.
  
• Maintain service stability during high loads during peak hours.
  

Solution

• Developed a reliable backend system based on .NET that ensures secure integration with the ZamuPay API, real-time transaction processing, logging and monitoring of all operations, as well as high fault tolerance and scalability.
• Created a flexible commission system that dynamically calculates percentages based on threshold amount ranges. Includes settings for different user categories, automatic application of current rates, and transparent user information about commission amounts.
• Implemented full support on both platforms: for iOS (Swift) created a native interface with intuitive UX/UI, and for Android (Kotlin) – an optimized version for a wide range of devices. Unified business logic from the backend ensures consistent system operation.
• Added tools to the administrative panel for real-time transaction monitoring, commission settings management, analytics collection and report generation, as well as efficient user support.
• Implemented RESTful API for interaction with ZamuPay, transaction status synchronization, callback message processing, and backup communication channels that guarantee stable operation even in case of technical failures.
  

Results

After launch, significant growth in the number of active transactions through the platform was observed. Integration with MPesa increased Kuvacash’s competitiveness in the East African mobile payments market and contributed to increased customer loyalty levels, confirmed by positive feedback and an increase in repeat transactions.

The ZamuPay project became a key stage in the development of the Kuvacash platform, opening up a new channel for users in Kenya to withdraw funds directly to MPesa mobile wallets. This solution not only expanded the company’s ecosystem but also provided significantly greater flexibility for end users, improving the convenience and speed of operations.
